Project Management Tools
Here are some tools that we are currently using for our freelancing business
Basecamp is tool that we personally use with most of our clients. It’s a great web-based project management tool. With Basecamp you can create “to-do lists”, have discussion about projects and see latest project updates very easy. You can also upload files, reports, and different kind of media to any project.. We recommend using Basecamp with big clients where lots of discussion and project management is going on. Basecamp keeps getting better day. Here are the very latest features and updates.
Basecamp is also available to Download for iPad. It’s free in the App Store.
Podio is another great project management platform for organizing team communication, business processes, data and content. With Podio you get everything related to the job on one page, instantly. It makes collaboration easier and much smoother. There are few different pricing plans, with basic one starting at $9.
Asana is task/project management tool. Communication within Asana is very well organized and delivered to other users in the team. Asana keeps your team organized, connected, so no additional emails communication is required. You can plan and manage projects and tasks online without the use of email providing each team a workspace. Workspace include projects and projects include tasks. You can download Asana for both Andriod and iOS devices.
Take a tour with Trello our favorite project management tool that we use on daily bases. With Trello, you can create separated boards for each client, and create cards within each board. Trello allows you to assign tasks to other people. It also allows you to customize your board to look the way you want. Trello is easy to use and FREE to use.
It’s not enough that you do good work for your clients. It’s also important that your communication is constant. Communicating with clients and other freelancers is really important. Here are some great communication tools that we recommend.
Millions of people use Skype every day. Professional meetings and collaborations are easy with Skype. We personally prefer Skype because it’s easy to use and it has screen share option which is really useful for us. Skype is now offering business plans starting from 1,50 € user/month
HipChat is great for personal and group chat tool. HipChat is offering features of file sharing and integrations. It’s available on Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, and yes, even Linux. People who hate installing things: There’s also a web app.
Last but not least is Slack. Slack is our favorite communication tool. Slack brings all your communication together in one place. With slack you can say goodbye to emails. With Slack, you don’t need to wait for the next email or meeting invite. This tool is offering many different features such as integrations, drag and drop file sharing and many more.
